About Central Mallorca
The impressive Tramuntana mountain range stretches from the southwest to the northwest of Mallorca over 100 km. The Sierra de Tramuntana has been recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO in 2011. You can go hiking along the 167 km of hiking trails, go rock climbing, cycling, horseback riding etc.
Apart from impressive castles and manor houses (the typical Mallorcan “possessiones”), you will also find several local museums trying to preserve the legacy of previous generations relating to archaeology, religious or modern art, paintings and sculptures. There is also an important role for music.
Many concerts are performed at various spectacular locations such as Son Marroig and Torrent de Pareis. In the centre of Mallorca you can find the “capital of leather “Inca”, a pleasant town where many famous shoe brands have emerged such as Lottusse, Camper, Farrutx and Barratx. Other historic villages are Sineu with its famous market on Wednesday, Petra, Muro, Sencelles and Costitx.
